FTL effect for Norvan Corvette spacecraft. Modeling, animation and rendering was done in Blender/Cycles, background is a cube map from Space Engine (awesome program) and the effects were all created in Adobe After Effects. This is a followup to a lo-qual test I did a few days ago. I might do one more re-render just to get rid of the aliased lines and cut back on the light noise, but overall I’m pretty happy with it.
A new design I slapped together this morning. It’s based on the “ring shuttle” I did several months back, but much more refined– it’s a one-piece model, sculpted from a simple torus. It’s also one of the first models I’ve done that’s 100% manifold right from the start. I’m hoping it will pass the Shapeways tests so that I can make this my first real-life 3d model. Love how it turned out– looks very dangerous, which a good Norvan ship should. Looooove Blender!
Some concepts for a Norvan ring ship. All done 100% in Blender, of course. Finally starting to get somewhere with the texturing, but there’s still much work to be done. Ultimately I want to make it watertight so I can send it to Shapeways for a 3D print…
Major Gavam Hest of the Peoples’ Stellar Army of Norva was sent into Diovela’s distant past in order to divert possible repercussions of Commander Orvae’s attempt to travel back in time and prepare Diovela for Zynech’s devastating invasions. I used Daz Studio 3 and Photoshop CS4 with a Wacom tablet.
